DUSTIN JOHNSON won on and off the course this weekend as he celebrated his stunning Ryder Cup by kissing fiancee Paulina Gretzky.

With the victory confirmed by Collin Morikawa minutes earlier, DJ beat Paul Casey one-up. And his stunning partner Paulina was on hand in her matching 'Johnson' sweater to congratulate him on the 18th green. Gretzky, daughter of former Canadian ice hockey star Wayne, was among the Team USA Wags enjoying the atmosphere. Katherine Zhu took no time to run on and embrace Morikawa when the win was sealed while Bryson DeChambeau's girlfriend Sophia Bertolami showed the love for her big-hitting superstar. Only Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood won their singles matches for Europe meaning the Americans romped to a record-breaking 19-9 victory at Whistling Straits with Daniel Berger picking up the final point against Matt Fitzpatrick on the last. The USA team and their partners wasted no time getting the party into full swing, enjoying drinks at the end of the 18th before the final singles matches concluded.

Blast judge issues arrest warrant for ex-minister

BEIRUT: The judge investigating last year's Beirut port blast issued an arrest warrant on Thursday for former public works minister Youssef Finianos after he failed to show up for questioning, the state National News Agency reported. Finianos, a Hezbollah ally sanctioned by the United States for his links to the group that it considers a terrorist organisation, could not immediately be reached for comment. The massive August 2020 explosion was caused by a large quantity of ammonium nitrate which had been stored unsafely at the port for years. The arrest warrant is the first for an ex-minister arising from the investigation. The blast killed hundreds, injured thousands and destroyed large swathes of the city but more than a year later, no top officials have been held accountable, angering many Lebanese. Judge Tarek Bitar, who is now leading the inquiry into the huge explosion, had issued requests in July to question former prime minister Hassan Diab and other top officials. They inc

Judge in Prince Andrew sex-abuse lawsuit declines to OK release of secret settlement that could help him

The headline-making sex-abuse lawsuit against   Prince Andrew  is inching along after a first hearing in New York on Monday – and there wasn't a lot of good news for the royal to come out of it. A federal judge declined to OK the release of a secret settlement agreement that Andrew's lawyers think could absolve him of liability in the case. Instead, the 40-minute telephone hearing before U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan focused on process serving and the relevant rules in America and the United Kingdom, and whether those rules were met when a process server left a copy of the lawsuit at the front gate of Andrew's Windsor residence last month. No immediate decision was made: Kaplan gave the parties several deadlines to make their case about whether or not Andrew was properly served, and whether officials at the English high court need to weigh in on the question. Kaplan set another hearing on the issue for Oct.13.  Prince Andrew rejects sexual abuse accuser&#

Grimes brought a MSCHF Sword, made out of an AR-15, to the ‘In America’ Met Gala

Grimes carried a sword created from an AR-15 assault rifle, made in MSCHF’s latest performance piece: a gun buyback that melts down firearms and turns them into swords. The sword is a poetically ironic take on the Gala’s ‘’In America’ theme. Grimes sparkles on the #MetGala red carpet. https://t.co/vaX97iQM2B pic.twitter.com/UdYgCmGG04 — Variety (@Variety) September 13, 2021

Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19

COVID-19. We’ve been living with it for what sometimes seems like forever. Given the number of deaths that have occurred from the disease, it’s perhaps not surprising that some consumers are turning to drugs not approved or authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  One of the FDA’s jobs is to carefully evaluate the scientific data on a drug to be sure that it is both safe and effective for a particular use. In some instances, it can be highly dangerous to use a medicine for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 that has not been approved by or has not received emergency use authorization from the FDA.  There seems to be a growing interest in a drug called ivermectin for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 in humans. Certain animal formulations of ivermectin such as pour-on, injectable, paste, and "drench," are approved in the U.S. to treat or prevent parasites in animals. For humans, ivermectin tablets are approved at very specific doses to treat some paras

El Salvador becomes the first country to adopt Bitcoin as official currency

MIAMI (AP) — El Salvador is betting that this week’s pioneering adoption of Bitcoin will spur its economy, especially one of its most crucial sources of revenue: money sent home by Salvadorans in the United States. A fervent proponent of the cryptocurrency, President Nayib Bukele has asked the more than 2 million Salvadorans who live overseas to send their remittances in Bitcoin, arguing it will be cheaper than transferring dollars. He also says it will stimulate foreign investment. No central bank or other institution has any say in its value, which is set entirely by people trading Bitcoin. That independence and secrecy have made it a favorite of people suspicious of governments, as well as criminals trying to hide their transactions. Other countries have dabbled in cryptocurrencies, but none has gone so far as El Salvador. Starting Tuesday, all businesses will have to accept payments in Bitcoin, except those lacking the technology to do so, according to a law approved by the congr

All the madness to expect from ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

It’s been a long, strange trip for Marvel’s Asgardian God of Thunder. What started as a fish-out-of-water adventure with Shakespearean overtones in 2011’s  Thor  jack-knifed into one of the  MCU’s most bawdily hilarious  and visually inventive yarns. All it took was for somebody somebody – specifically writer-director Taika Waititi – to realise ‘hey, maybe a bro-y space warrior who rides around on rainbows, throws a big hammer and drinks like a Viking should be played for laughs.’ Ever since  Thor: Ragnarok  emerged from the Devil’s Anus and embraced the comedic superpowers of swole Aussie demigod Chris Hemsworth, the franchise hasn’t looked back.  Now, following a stint with crippling depression, a lost eyeball, the death of his entire family and a whole lot of time cosplaying  The Big Lebowski  in  Avengers: Infinity War  and  Endgame , Hemsworth is back to his galactic shenanigans with the hotly anticipated  Thor: Love and Thunder . The film promises to up the ante on the chaos of

Bitcoin ban: These are the countries where crypto is restricted or illegal

Bitcoin has been controversial since its beginning in 2009, as have the subsequent cryptocurrencies that followed in its wake. While widely criticised for its volatility, its use in nefarious transactions and for the exorbitant use of electricity to mine it, Bitcoin is being seen by some, particularly in the developing world, as a safe harbour during economic storms. But as more people turn to cryptos as either an investment or a lifeline, these issues have manifested in an array of restrictions on their usage. The legal status of Bitcoin and other altcoins (alternative coins to Bitcoin) varies substantially from country to country, while in some, the relationship remains to be properly defined or is constantly changing. Here's a guide to where in the world Bitcoin has been restricted.
