Succession star Sarah Snook is back on home soil and will present at the 2021 AACTA Awards in Sydney
Sarah Snook found global fame on the hit television series Succession, with its main filming location set in New York.
And now the Australian actress, 34, will recognise local talent by presenting at the 2021 Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts Awards (the AACTAs), to be held in Sydney on Wednesday December 8.
With no formal host at the awards ceremony, Adelaide-born Sarah will join other stars including Rebel Wilson, Russell Crowe and Baz Luhrmann in presenting a category.
On hand to entertain the stars will be musical acts Lime Cordiale, Baker Boy and Steve Kilbey.
AACTA president Russell Crowe said in a statement, 'There's no doubt it's been a tough time – for our industry and the world at large.'
'The 2021 AACTAs offer us the opportunity to come together and recognise those who have worked so hard and produced such high-quality entertainment for people at a time when they needed it most.'
The latest developments come just weeks after the nominees were announced - with a few notable surprises.
Chief among them was that the ABC's new drama The Newsreader led the television categories with 10 nominations - more than the higher profile final seasons of established dramas like Wentworth and Mr Inbetween.
In the television category, ABC's six-part series, The Newsreader, leads the field with 10 nominations.
The series, which is about a 1980s TV newsroom has the most amount of nominations including: Best Drama Series, with director Emma Freeman and actors Anna Torv, Sam Reid, William McInnes, and Stephen Peacocke among those up for accolades.
The compelling final seasons of Wentworth, Mr Inbetween, and Jack Irish have also been recognised this year.
Wakefield boasts eight nominations for Best Drama Series and cast including Rudi Dharmalingam, Mandy McElhinney, Harry Greenwood and Harriet Dyer
The nominees for Best Entertainment Program include the hugely popular The Block, MasterChef Australia, The Voice and LEGO Masters.
They will vie for awards alongside Amazon Prime Australia's Luxe Listings Sydney and returning favourite, The Real Housewives of Melbourne.
Competing for Best Drama Series are Clickbait, Jack Irish, Mr Inbetween, The Newsreader, Total Control, Wakefield and Wentworth.
Meanwhile, in between filming for the HBO series and attending red carpet premieres across the globe, Sarah recently spent some of her hard-earned cash on a sprawling property.
The actress' new rural estate is not far from Melbourne in regional Victoria and is the perfect hideaway for Sarah and her new husband, comedian Dave Lawson, 43.
The 14-hectare property is situated about 80km northwest of Melbourne near the popular town of Woodend.
